Jane Austen

“The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.”

Oh, Jane Austen, how I love you. One thing I adore about Jane Austen is her honesty. Seriously, she was so far ahead of her time in the feminist movement it’s unbelievable. All of her books are wonderful, but if you aren’t a fan of old English start with Pride and Prejudice. If you’ve already read it then don’t stop there. Austen is known for more than just one book. Try Sense and Sensibility, or Persuasion, or Emma. You won’t be disappointed.

Here’s a link to a site discussing her books and the novels she inspired with her writing.

  1. Yes,i am very big fan of Jane Austen..i love her books very much and am very much curious to know about what happened with her life and what influenced her to write such great love stories..
It was Sense and Sensibility movie 1995 version that touched my heart which i watched about 3 years before and since then i am loving her more day by day! Recently,i am reading “Persuasion”..i watched the 2007 version first ,i loved it so much that i wanted to watch next version..though many like 1995 version,i loved 2007 version more..the cast was better and Rupert Penry Jones & Sally Hawkins have played the characters so well!! (my personal view though!) .Then i bought the book and currently reading it! Glad to find another Austen fan!! 🙂
